Description

Celtic Triskele  18" Round

Also known as the Celtic Triple Spiral, and "Tri Biseach" in Irish.  The Triskele is one of the oldest Celtic symbols, representing the "three realms" of Earth, sea and sky and how they are interconnected and constantly in motion.   This piece was a little difficult to cut out.  It looks simple, but once you start cutting, it is one continuous curved line until you finish.  Naturally, I had to make it 18" across so the spirals are nice and big.  I added furniture tacks to the outside ring to make it look more like a shield.  I really like the way it turned out.
