Humpback Whales 18" X 15"
This mother and calf were a lot of fun to design. I love how graceful whales are and tried to convey that in this piece. I came up with the basic pose of the two animals and used several pictures from the internet for the details and coloring patterns, especially on the pectoral fins (flippers) and the fluke (tail). The hardest part of the whole design to draw was getting the eyes right.

This really caught my eye when viewing the different photos of whales and having done a little woodwork myself.........very nicely composed and executed...........
