Space Shuttle Going to the Pad by RamageArt Space Shuttle Going to the Pad by RamageArt
Space Huttle Going to the Pad

This illustration was done over 20 years ago. The original picture I was working from was a daytime shot, but I thought it would look more dramatic at night with the flood lights on it. I really like the results of stippling. 14" X 17"

Too bad that there wont be but a few more of these runs to the pad with a loaded crawler. I like how it just so happens that my favorite shuttle is the one in this image.

I know exactly how you feel. When I was in the Air Force, I had friends in NASA at Edwards AFB in the Mojave dessert and went out and watched the very first shuttle (Enterprise) with it's maiden test flight and was smitten. I have been back out to watch it land at Edwards on many occasions. I even got a chance to take pictures of it while they were testing it at Vandenburg AFB near Santa Barbara. I have done several illustrations of the spacecraft and even designed a Christmas t-shirt design that the astronaughts had printed on sweatshirts that they wore on the shuttle on Christmas day while in orbit.

Thank you for you comments, Don
